Timex uses different styles of watch bands. Some watches have leather or plastic buckle bands. Some bands are made up of canvas material with a Velcro claps. Still other Timex watches have metal link clasp bands. Of the different watch band styles, adjusting a watch with a metal link clasp band to perfectly fit your wrist is the most difficult.

1 Answer. Examine the back of your Timex watch band to find the little arrows that indicate which direction the link pins must be pushed to be removed. Use a watch pin removal tool, or a push pin, to apply pressure to the link pin that secures that last watch link. Gradually apply more and more pressure until the link pin comes free.
Get your tools assembled. There are several things you will need to adjust your watch band. You will need one or two push pins. You will use these to push the pins that hold the links together out of their holes. Get a pair of needle nosed pliers to help you remove the pins. You will need a small jewelry hammer.
Place one pin in the slot at the end of the new watchband. Carefully place one end of the pin in the mounting hole on the watch. Compress the pin with the spring lever tool and swing it into position over the other mounting hole. Slowly release the pressure on the pin. Mount the other end of the watchband to the watch in the same fashion.
